Public Engagement with Science

‘Making connections’ is what I am most passionate about, may it be between two abstract ideas, two distant characters in stories I share or two communities that need to be in the same room. That’s why working at the intersections of research, education, outreach, and communications to engage with everyone makes me immensely happy.

As a trained scientist- informing, explaining, and educating comes naturally to me. What I had to focus on and intentionally learn over time, was to be a better listener, a supportive ally, and an active community member than just being an expert in a room!

The conscious decision of being present, being “human” and put on the hat of “scientist/expert” second has resulted in some wonderful networks and connections that I am proud to be associated with.
